Below the Surface
Identity and Printed Material
In an effort to connect with Kinfolk’s Danish readership, we hosted a casual dinner in Copenhagen at the end of Northmodern’s winter 2015 show at the city’s cherished Atelier September. The evening’s theme “Below the Surface” inspired a wide array of delicious root vegetable dishes created by chefs Mikkel Karstad and Frederik Bille Brahe.
For the event’s printed material, I interpreted the “Below the Surface” concept in abstract, playful ways: a deep beet-like purple/red hue used across all pieces, an onion skin-like paper used for the posters and a deep debossing used on the face of the invitations to emphasize the idea of “below”.
