Ouur Autumn/Winter 2015
About the collection:
Each season we strive to create pieces that will be appreciated and worn year after year. We do this through the use of comfortable materials, high-quality construction and a focus on understated styles. This dedication stems from our connection to the slow living movement and an appreciation for the sentiment of ‘less but better.’ While our team and the collection are rooted in these efforts, we also look to the world around us for visual influences. This season we drew inspiration from the Central Andes—the high elevation and dramatic mountains led us to design warm chunky knits, oversized coats, textured patterns while using fibers unique to the region. About my involvement:
For the past two years, I’ve been the U.S. lead for the Ouur collection, an apparel and home goods collection created by the same team behind Kinfolk Magazine. I’m responsible for developing the concept and visual direction for each season, working directly with our lead apparel designer to ensure her designs are on-point for the brand and seasonal concept, overseeing our quarterly sample checks in Tokyo, art directing the seasonal campaign photography, designing all accompanying print and digital materials and leading collaborations with other brands for limited edition products.
